Click here to read about how Eliot saved the day/play.

| About 15 minutes before the intermission, one of the lights caught on fire. Obviously, everyone saw it (except the actors). They waited until the scene was over and then the announcement came for everyone to leave the theatre (the lady didn't have to say why - everyone saw what was happening). Then immediately we saw Eliot scurry up to the very top, put the fire out, disconnect the electrical and the light and viola - it was done. Great work by Eliot. Many of the people did NOT leave the theatre, they wanted to see this part of the show. Afterwards, I saw loads of people going up to Eliot and congratulating him. I don't know who made the call not to evacuate the theatre or call the fire brigade, but it was the right thing to do. Oh, and the play was just excellent. What a unique interpretation of a feminist/antifeminist theme. |
